Plot:
Six animated shorts for SVT (the Swedish Public Service Television) based on traditional and new drawn stories. Broadcasted in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland and Iceland
Idea:
I wanted to create animations that recreated the fascination I felt as a child when my aunt told me Drawn stories. In the films, you follow the animated line in close-up while the story is being told. When the story reaches its end, you see the whole picture which also ties the narrative together. Each film ends with the drawn figure coming to life, such as the whale diving into the water or the cat lying down and purring.
Process:
I used four traditional and two new illustrated stories that I created myself. The images for the different films were made in charcoal and photographed. The animation of the line was done using masks in After Effects and timed according to the narrator's voice. To bring the story to life, sound effects were added to enhance various details.
Techniques:
Drawings, Photoshop, After Effects
