Sant enligt vem

"Sant enligt vem" (True according to who?) is a play about Daniel, an ordinary teenager in an oridnary small town. He lives with his dad, but the don´t really get along. They share the same grief after the death of Daniels mother, but the cannot reach each other. In school, there's Lisen, and then there are those friends who pressure Daniel into things he doesn't really feel like doing. All he wants is to get away and have a chance to start over, something that puts both friendships and family relationships at stake.

Idea:
To create a stage set and projections for the play "Sant enligt vem" by Jimmy Meurling at Teater Tre i Stockholm. The entire scenography consisted of projections, and I developed a technical solution for how the projections should be spatially installed and how the films could be mapped onto them using two projectors. The material included filmed sequences, animated loops, and texts in the form of SMS messages. The actors triggered all cues themselves using Qlab.

Process:
We used a rear projection screen stretched against specially made aluminum frames that stood freely on the stage. The projections drew inspiration from everyday details within the play's setting. These details were enlarged and abstracted, transforming elements such as the store's neon sign and barcodes into undulating fields of color in a dance sequence, or representing shivers through extreme close-ups of movements in iron filings.
