Hej vad heter du

Projections as stage set

Tutankhamons hjärta

Plot:
"Hej vad heter du" (Hello what is your name) in choreography by Ossi Niskala is a danceperformance that laborates with namne. How hard it would be if we didn't have our namnes, what would we call each other then? The performance takes off with the three participating dancers names and the stories behind how they got them and how what they think and feel about their names.

Idea:
To create projections that in different ways portayed the theme of the performance. The projections where integrated in the scenography, as for exampel that a filmcollage was projected on an built up wall of cardboards, or that a moving portrait could appear on a t-shirt. The dancers also used a portable projector to be able to move the projections to different places.

Process:
I worked from without the themes portrait and laboratory. The dancers occured both on stage and as different filmsequenses. The initial projection was a collage of different portraits where some of the faces where filmed under water to give them a different character. The material consisted both of filmed material and animations. Details in the background stories about the names was picked up in the projections, as the cat, that was an important clue to why Måns got his namne, or the duplicated copies of Tove, as it seemed that there where a lot of dancers that named Tove at that time, or in a play with letters that came to form the name of Mira.
