Plot:
The dance performance is freely based on the book with the same name by Jimmy Liao. It is about a 14-year-old girl who is about to lose her sight and is embarking on a journey that takes place in senses and emotions. The text and illustrations in the book have been our source of inspiration while working on the play.

Idea:
To create a stage set of moving images to be performed live. The stage was framed by five projections that transported the audience between different worlds. Sometimes they were at the bottom of the ocean together with a large sperm whale, sometimes inside an abstract microcosm, or moved to a platform with stressed travelers, and then up among the treetops in a whirling dance, etc.

Process:
The material I used consisted of filmed sequences and animations and was developed in close cooperation with the rest of the crew. The movements for the platform were filmed in the studio and then combined with animated backgrounds and details. Several sequences were developed to interact with the actions on stage, such as an animated shadow that overlapped with the real shadow of a dancer, or a filmed flashlight that appeared as drawings of light on the screen.
